At Spirit of Tanzania Safaris, we understand that plans can change, and we want to make sure the process for cancellations and refunds is transparent and fair. Please review our Cancellation and Refund Policy before booking your safari. By booking with us, you acknowledge and accept the terms outlined below.


1. Booking Confirmation & Deposit

  • Total Tour Cost: $2,500

    You will receive a refund of $2,000 minus the non-refundable deposit ($500), totaling $1,500.
    If you cancel within [insert number] to [insert number] days of departure:
    You will receive 50% of the total tour cost ($2,500), which is $1,250, minus the non-refundable deposit ($500), totaling $750.


3. Cancellation by Spirit of Tanzania Safaris

While we do everything possible to avoid cancellations, we reserve the right to cancel your tour due to unforeseen circumstances, such as weather conditions, natural disasters, political instability, or other factors that may compromise the safety and enjoyment of the safari.

If we cancel your tour:

  • Full Refund: You will receive a full refund of all amounts paid.

  • Alternative Arrangements: If you prefer, we can help you choose another tour or date.


4. Refund Process

If you are entitled to a refund, the amount will be credited to the original payment method. Refunds are typically processed within [insert number] business days of the cancellation confirmation.

  • Refunds to credit card payments may take additional time, depending on your card provider’s processing times.

Please note that we are not responsible for any additional fees charged by third-party payment processors.

  • Accommodation and Lodging: Once booked, accommodation costs may not be refundable due to hotel cancellation policies. We will inform you of any such policies at the time of booking.

  • Transfers and Activities: Certain non-refundable activities or services (such as park permits, game drives, and private tours) may apply, and these will be indicated at the time of booking.


6. Force Majeure

In the event of a force majeure event (e.g., natural disasters, war, terrorism, strikes, pandemics, government restrictions, etc.), we will notify you as soon as possible. If your safari is impacted, we may:

  • Offer alternative dates or a different tour

  • Provide a partial or full refund depending on the situation

We recommend that travelers obtain travel insurance to cover cancellations caused by these unforeseen events.


7. No-Show Policy

If you do not show up for your safari on the scheduled departure date, no refund will be issued, and the full tour cost will be forfeited. Please make sure you are on time for your scheduled departure.


8. Changes to Bookings

If you wish to make changes to your booking, such as changing the date or tour package, please contact us at least  15 days before departure. Changes are subject to availability and may incur an administrative fee.


9. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that you purchase travel insurance that covers cancellations, trip interruptions, medical emergencies, and other unforeseen events. This can provide protection for your travel investment in case of illness, injury, or other unexpected occurrences.
