Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be warmly greeted by your guide. After a short introduction, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha (depending on your preference). Relax and unwind after your journey, and take the evening to prepare for the adventure ahead. You’ll receive a briefing about the upcoming trek, ensuring you’re well-prepared for your Kilimanjaro climb. Enjoy a peaceful night of rest at the hotel before beginning your trek the next day.

Day 2: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
After a hearty breakfast, you’ll head to the Marangu Gate, the starting point of your Kilimanjaro trek. Your guide will assist with the necessary paperwork and permits before you begin your hike.

Day 3: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
After a nutritious breakfast, you’ll continue your trek towards Horombo Hut, ascending steadily through the scenic Kilimanjaro landscape.

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut
Today, your journey continues as you ascend from Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut, located at the base of the summit.

The trail to Kibo Hut takes you through alpine deserts, where the vegetation becomes sparse, and the landscape transforms into rocky, barren terrain. You’ll pass by the saddle between the two volcanic cones, Kibo and Mawenzi, as you continue your ascent.
Kibo Hut serves as the final resting point before your summit attempt. The air here is thinner, and the environment can feel quite harsh. After reaching the hut, take some time to relax and hydrate, as the next day will be an early and strenuous one. Enjoy a warm dinner and rest, mentally preparing for the final push to Uhuru Peak.

Day 5: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak and Descend to Mweka Camp
This is the big day—your summit attempt! You will begin your climb early in the morning, as the path to Uhuru Peak is long and challenging.
Hiking Details:
- Distance: 6 km to the summit, then 13 km to Mweka Camp
- Hiking Time: 6–8 hours to reach the summit, then 4–6 hours to descend
- Altitude: 4,703 m to 5,895 m (Uhuru Peak), then down to 3,100 m (Mweka Camp)
Your ascent to Uhuru Peak begins around midnight, trekking in the dark to avoid the midday heat and reach the summit by sunrise. The climb is steep, but with the guidance of your experienced team, you’ll push through the night and be rewarded with magnificent views as the sun rises from the “Roof of Africa.”
Once you reach the summit, take in the breathtaking views from Africa’s highest point, standing at 5,895 meters above sea level. After taking photos and celebrating this incredible achievement, you’ll begin your descent back to Kibo Hut, where you will rest briefly.
From Kibo Hut, continue your descent to Mweka Camp, passing through diverse landscapes as you make your way down to camp. Mweka Camp offers a well-deserved rest after your summit attempt.
At Mweka, enjoy a warm meal and relax as you reflect on the incredible journey you’ve completed.
